Scholarship & Financial Assistance

The scholarships award is for qualified students already pursuing second year courses and above in Universities and HND1 and above in Polytechnic’s and Monotechnics.
  • A Scholarship Award of #100,000.00 is granted to each deserving student of Ondo State origin in Tertiary institutions in Nigeria undergoing HND and undergraduate degree courses.

Overseas Scholarship Scheme
  • The state Executive Council also approved in principle the establishment of overseas Scholarship Scheme for PhD and other specialized post graduate courses. A cabinet Committee was constituted to work-out the modalities for the award. The scheme has not yet been implemented.

Automatic Scholarship Award
  • Automatic scholarship may be given to outstanding students of Ondo State origin who excel in National and International Competitions (Sports, Academics and Cultural display). However, the amount payable is determined by the government from time to time. The current payment is #100,000 per beneficiary.

Financial Assistance to physically challenged Students
  • A special financial assistance of #50,000.00 yearly is granted to each of the physically challenged students who are indigenes of Ondo State in recognized tertiary institutions in Nigeria; i.e. N.C.E, O.N.D, H.N.D, Undergraduate and Postgraduate. This is regardless of their examination grades or scores.

Financial Assistance to Medical and Law Students
  • The State Government increased the financial assistance to Medical Students and Ondo State Students in Nigerian Law schools from #25,000.00 to #50,000.00 per students.

The Medical and Engineering Professionals Special Scholarship Programs
  • Chevron (Nig) Ltd, as part of the company’s corporate responsibility and contributions to human capital development in Nigeria, instituted a merit based Under-graduate Scholarship programme for Medical and Engineering Students in the Niger Delta States including Ondo States.

    The programme tagged “Agbami Project” is focused on raising 500 Doctors, 250 Nurses, 250 Laboratory Scientists and 250 Engineers in the selected States in 11 years. Ondo State is given 450 slots per year as follows:

    Medicine/Pharmacy/Dentistry 100
    Engineering 250
    Nursing 50
    Medical laboratories 50
    Total 450
